Ch Ch Changes!

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

Hello friends,

Thanks for taking the time to read this note and learn about the changes that are happening with The Cape Cod Art Bar. We sincerely hope this note finds everyone to be well and coping with these crazy times in the best way possible.

Covid 19 and its ripple effect have touched each and everyone one of us in one way or another. People have been affected on a deeply personal level, some have lost jobs and businesses some have lost hope and sadly some have even lost loved ones. Everyone's lives have been touched in some way shape or form. Our hearts and compassion go out to everyone in our community and beyond.

In the midst of all the chaos it seems that down is up and up appears to be down! We are all trying to figure out how to ‘embrace the uncertainty’ of these times.

As Artists we tend to be eternal optimists (most days!) and we believe that sometimes in the midst of chaos, in what appears to be the breaking down of what we once called normal, we can find opportunity…opportunity to take stock of what really matters in life and to create changes that better reflect who we are and where we want to be.

For those of you who have followed us along on our creative journey since 2006, we are so very grateful for you! You know that we have transformed several times over the years (and yes, moved too). We long ago accepted that growing, transforming (and sometimes moving) is just a natural part of life's journey.

After deep reflection we find ourselves, once again, in the midst of embracing transformation. We have made the decision to change up what we do. Partly because it's time and partly because of the changes that Covid has brought.

First we changed up our Studio & Gallery space, no we have not moved! A little paint, some wonderful new artists and a little rearranging lightened the space right up.

Next, we've changed our name to The Cosmic Cod to better reflect our broader range of services and our ability to reach people of all ages and abilities. That's important to us... to be accessible to everyone.

You would be surprised how many people, because of our name, thought we were the kind of bar that you could cozy up to and enjoy a few rounds of whiskey shots and a few beers!

Lastly we are very happy to be adding Reiki, Meditation, Life & Art Coaching as well as other Integrative Services to our list of offerings!

Our mission remains true to our original intent; to inspire and encourage people of all ages and abilities to utilize the power of creativity to enhance wellbeing, balance and joy in their lives.

Creativity is a powerful force. You don’t have to know how to paint a masterpiece or create a life-like portrait to be creative, you just need to be willing to open your heart and your mind and to explore new possibilities, and that's what we are here to do!

We are planning small art classes, workshops & private painting lessons in adherence with the current Covid Guidelines to begin after the New Year. Our main priority is right now is everyone's health, safety and wellbeing. For the time being all paint parties are on hold.

We will also be offering classes, workshops and one-on-one sessions in Reiki, Life & Wellness Coaching, Therapeutic Art Coaching, EFT, Meditation and other Integrative modalities.

We believe that all of the above used alone or together help to reduce stress and increase wellbeing. And what better time than now to take care of our own personal wellbeing!

We will be posting on our website & Social Media to keep you up to date! In the meantime stop in and say hello! You'll find us in the studio on Saturdays 11-3PM.

We sincerely hope and pray that each and everyone of you and your families have made it through these past months with good health, hope, gentleness and kindness.

We invite you to join us on our journey as we create new dreams and a better new normal.

Above all, stay safe, stay well and creatively happy.

With much Love & Gratitude,

Ali Tyber and Diane Precourt

Ps: we are still at 27 Fountain Street in the Mashpee Commons!
